An entrepreneur’s Investment Fund is being created, as part of a wider initiative to support UK enterprise and economic growth. Applications for SCALE Ventures funding are open.
Application Criteria
- EIS or SEIS approved
- Specifically aimed at founders
- UK taxpayers only
- A coherent 3-year business plan, assessed by our independent panel, with tangible and measurable economic benefits
- A passion and commitment to the sector, service or product, supported by research
- Clearly identified applications of funds and R.O.I
- The character, resilience, and leadership team to demonstrate a confident route to success
£300K Fund Package – £75,000 per company, funded as follows:
- £40,000 cash equity, paid in 3 equal instalments over an 18 month period
- £13,500 in kind. Base for 1-2 persons at the SCALE Hub in Fitzrovia
- £21,500 in kind. Structured, strategic, coaching/mentoring from the Chairman, or a qualified coach, including 9 bi-monthly 1-2-1 sessions, plus nine peer group sessions, over an 18-month period
- Attendance at monthly SCALE Sessions events over an 18-month period - a combination of learning, sharing and networking
- Financial, sales and marketing advice
- Regular monitoring of progress against agreed goals and objectives
- Sustainable Profits: consistent EBITDA; clean financials/cashflow; low dividends
- Client Diversity: nobody over 20%; contracted revenue; long-term relationships; multiple sectors
- Management Team: strong leadership team; clear succession; not owner dependent
- Growth Potential: market position; barriers to entry; proven scalability; competitive advantage
Process & Timing 2025
- July 1st – LAUNCH!
- September - November – initial discussions and shortlist
- November - December – panel interviews, due diligence and legal process.
- December 1st – Ventures Programme One begins!
